Coming soon to a school near you...!
Monday 9th May at 7.30 p.m. Next FBCS Planning Meeting
Tuesday 17th May Bag2School
You will be getting bags after Easter. We need you to fill these with unwanted clothes, soft toys, shoes, bedding and towels and bring them to school on the morning of 17th May. It's a great way of spring cleaning and raising money for school at the same time!
Saturday 18th June at 4 p.m. Sponsored Walk round Langsett Reservoir
A great opportunity to have a gentle walk in the sunshine (we hope!) and chat with other parents and friends of the school. Sponsor forms will be available after the Easter break.
And in a packed programme, we're already thinking about events for next year. Ideas include a Christmas card competition, a 'Great British Bake Off' when we hope all you fantastic cooks out there will produce traditional British foods (mince pies, pastries, Christmas cakes, pickles, chutneys and preserves) to sell and to win the coveted title of 'Best BCS British Baker' (or some other title we invent between now and then!) and a new FBCS recipe book.
We'll keep you informed of all events and thank you again for all your support this term, especially at the Chocolate Bake 'n' Take last week.
Friends of Barnsley Christian School (FBCS) is a group of parents, friends, staff and pupils who are working to improve the facilities in school and enhance the school's family atmosphere.

So much baking you can come back for more!
Many huge thanks to all who baked for the Chocolate Bake 'n' Take today. We had so much stuff that we will be holding a second Bake 'n' Take tomorrow (Tuesday 29th March), so please bring some cash along for further purchases then!
Here's a look at what we had on offer today:

Thanks to Dave, Paul & Ross who served so capably!

So far, the Bake 'n' Take has raised £80; we hope tomorrow will see this figure rise even further!

Paying off our debts...
Thanks to the generous donation of £1500 made to FBCS a couple of weeks ago, we have been able to pay off a large part of the debt we owed to Hope House Church, who kindly underwrote the bill for the Sports Hall flooring. We now owe just over £200.
At the end of the Games evening on Friday, we managed to see the church Treasurer, Neil, and gave him the cheque from us for £1500.

Our thanks go to the church for their generosity in supporting us during the Sports Hall project, to those who gave so generously to FBCS and to God for enabling us to make a difference to the school.
