There are some changes of dates for meetings: apologies to those of you whose diaries have multiple crossings out in them! Some of these changes of dates are to do with availability of premises or people, but I do apologise for having to change dates.
The next FBCS planning meeting will now be on Monday 28th February at 7.30 p.m. in school. This is the first day back after half-term, so please do make a note of this.
The social/ games evening will now be held on Friday 11th March at 7 p.m. in school. We hope that many of you will want to come along and keep fit (Wii-fit... no exercise forced on anyone, though a willingness to get involved in fun would be a definite asset to this evening!) and get to know people. We'll be having hot dogs to keep energy levels up, so it would be helpful if you could give us an idea of numbers for catering purposes. Please see Mike Stead in the office if you are intending to come.
The Chocolate Bake 'n' Take will still be on Monday 28th March at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Room.
We have quite a few more things planned, so do watch this space!

Updates
Last night we held a planning meeting and as always, some things have to change and other things are pencilled in. We have a number of fund-raising ideas that still have to be organised, but the following dates are in the diary and will hopefully be going ahead soon.
Social/games evening Saturday 12th March 7 p.m.
We've changed the date on this one to allow a little more time for planning. This is not really a fund-raiser; we just hope to have a social evening, playing games on various computer consoles (including Wii-fit) and getting to know staff, pupils and parents a little better. Hot dogs will be served at this. Please let us know numbers to help with catering.
Chocolate Bake 'n' Take Monday 28th March 3 p.m.
This will take place in the Fellowship Room on 28th March and we need home-bakers to provide the goods to sell.
Sponsored Walk Saturday 18th June 4 p.m.
We are planning a sponsored walk around Langsett Reservoir on Saturday 18th June, starting at 4 p.m. The walk is easily accessible to everyone (including children and older people) and there is a very good pub near there where you could have dinner afterwards if you wanted to. We hope you will consider raising sponsors for this event.
Currently this academic year we've raised £714 and have plans for a big fund-raising event in May. We are still paying for the Sports Hall floor, so we have no new projects until that is paid off, but are looking forward to continuing to provide the school with valuable and valued resources from all the money we raise.

Anniversaries ahead...
September 2011 will be the school's 25th anniversary! Barnsley Christian School officially opened on 22nd September 1986. We've come a long way since then and we at FBCS are already looking at ways to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Keep watching this space for further details.
One idea we are currently pursuing is to sell BCS mugs again. We purchased some of these mugs (see below) for the school's 20th anniversary (it doesn't seem like 5 years ago!) and they sold out in weeks. We are looking to order some more mugs and hope these will be on sale in the new academic year in time to celebrate the anniversary.
Let us know if you have any other ideas for ways to celebrate and we will be looking at how to make this a memorable occasion!
