Last night at the school concert we announced the winners of recent competitions. Alas, my photographic skills haven't been good enough to capture all the winners on camera, but I can at least announce the winners here!
The Pamper Hamper was won by Wendy Daley, who correctly guessed the exact value of the Clarins hamper at £49. Our thanks again to the House of Beauty for their generous donation to school.
The food and drink hamper was won by Cheryl Barnes, who was the nearest guesser. The actual value of the hamper was £74.82 and she guessed £75.00
The Christmas cake was won by Amber Roberts. The cake, including cake board, weighed 1.6 kg.
Thanks to all who generously supported these competitions. Since the Bake 'n' Take we have raised £84 from these competitions. Thanks also to all those who have generously donated gifts to make these competitions possible.
Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a blessed New Year.

Last week review
This is the last full week of term before Christmas and there are a few things still happening!
The Bag2School Day in November raised £88. Thanks to all who brought in clothes etc. for that. There will be another Bag2School Day next year.
You can still have a go at winning the two hampers and the cake at the Christmas concert on Thursday 16th December. There will be the opportunity to guess the weight of the cake and the value of the hampers as you enter school (£1 per guess) and the winner will be announced at the end of the evening concert.
Thanks to all who have worked so hard this term at raising funds. Altogether, we have raised over £450 this term.

Bake 'n' Take
Thank you to all who supported the Bake 'n' Take last Thursday. So far this has raised £87.37 and we hope that more people will enter the hamper/ cake competitions this week, so that the final total will be greater than this. Don't forget that we will be announcing winners to the competition and giving out the prizes on Thursday 16th December at the evening concert.

This Thursday (9th December) will be our Christmas Bake 'n' Take, starting at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Room.
All you willing bakers need to bring buns, cakes, mince pies etc. into school that morning and all you willing friends need to come along in the afternoon ready to buy!
In addition to baking, we will also be selling home-made Christmas cards and BCS bookmarks.
There will also be 3 competitions (£1 per guess, with the chance to win amazing prizes!)
1) Guess the Weight of the Cake
Guess correctly and you will win a beautifully iced sponge cake
2) Guess the Value of the Hamper
Guess correctly and you will win a food and drink hamper that will certainly start the festive season off well!
3) Guess the Value of the 'Pamper Hamper'
Guess correctly and you will win a hamper of beautiful toiletries, kindly donated by the local business 'House of Beauty'.
The three competitions will run until the day of the school Christmas concert (16th December), so even if you can't make it on Thursday, you can still have the opportunity to have a guess!
We hope you'll be able to support this event. Please note that if you're bringing in items for the food & drink hamper, we need these in school as soon as possible!

Go for Gold
In recent years, we have run a scheme called 'Go for Gold' to raise money for school. With this scheme, parents and friends bring in any unwanted gold to school and we pass this on to Mr & Mrs Roberts, parents who work in the jewellery trade, who then sell this and give the money raised back to school.
In the past, this helped to raise a considerable amount of money towards the Sports Hall floor, and we still need some money to finish paying for this. We have a number of new parents in school who have expressed an interest in this scheme, so we are pleased to inform you that we will be re-starting the 'Go for Gold' scheme.
If you have any items of unwanted gold (broken jewellery, one solitary earring without its pair etc.), please bring these into the school office and when we have sufficient items in weight to make it worth while to sell these, we will pass them on to Mr & Mrs Roberts.
